It all began with an idea...
A few years ago, I was talking with a couple of homeschooling moms about how it would be awesome if someone would open a used curriculum store in the area. The thought would pop up every few months. If only that "someone" would get the ball rolling, I would gladly drop my children's used textbooks off for them to sell. The same "someone" would also take on the pricing and consumer interaction which I was not willing to do online or haul to a book swap.
Well, through a whirlwind of God's timing and His amazing provisions, the "someone" has turned out to be ... ME!
Not only being homeschooled myself, I have homeschooled my children for almost 10 years. Over the many years of either using them myself or with my children, I understand the importance of certain curriculums. One of the significant impacts of textbooks is the cost. This is why and how my vision of The NUC (pronounced "nook") became a reality. The NUC will provide a way for homeschooling families to recoup some of the cost of their new books by consigning them here at The NUC. At the same time, The NUC will offer used curriculum at a fraction of the cost.
I am truly excited about being the "someone" to get the ball rolling for all the local and surrounding homeschool parents. However, I can not do it alone. The shelves are in place...The next move is in your court.
